The action of UNIAPRAVI, aimed at bringing together and stimulating the exchange of experiences between the housing financial systems of different countries, and promoting dialogue and interaction with the government authorities in charge of defining housing policies and the legal and institutional frameworks for the development of the sector, includes a set of specialized activities and services in the area of housing policies, housing financing and urban management:
Holds international meetings
Dedicated to discussing issues related to housing policies, housing financing and urban management, stimulating the exchange of knowledge and experiences between countries and institutions. Among them, the Inter-American Housing Conferences stand out, which constitute the most important regional forum on housing financing held annually since 1963; Inter-American Mortgage Banking Courses, which have been held annually since 1989, and which provide training on current and current financial alternatives, which have been successfully put into practice in different countries. These courses are aimed mainly at executives of housing financial institutions and other sector entities.
It conducts studies
Organizes seminars and training courses, and provides technical assistance. The purpose of these services is to analyze certain aspects and problems in the functioning of housing financial systems, with a view to determining and, eventually, applying corrective measures to solve them. They are vehicles that make available to the directors and executives of the member institutions both reference material and specific criteria and measures that favor the strengthening of the institutions. These services constitute an important means for the dissemination and use of the knowledge and experiences accumulated by UNIAPRAVI during a career of more than 40 years within the framework of different economic, social, political and institutional scenarios.
Produce and distribute publications
The publications program is aimed at disseminating technical documents and statistical material on housing financial systems as well as institutional information on UNIAPRAVI and its member institutions. The main publications are the following:
UNIAPRAVI Bulletin. It is the official medium of UNIAPRAVI that disseminates information on recent developments in the housing sector of the countries of the region, as well as on the institutional activities of UNIAPRAVI and its member entities. It is published monthly.
Notebooks Series. Started in 1970, it disseminates documents and studies that analyze important aspects of the development and financing of the housing sector, mainly in Latin America, addressing its problems and proposing policies and operational practices. Appears quarterly.
Compendiums of the Inter-American Conferences on Housing. It has been published annually since 1963 and contains the annals and texts of the presentations developed during each and every one of the Inter-American Housing Conferences held to date.
Institutional Memory. Which is published annually detailing the presidential administration.
Others. Likewise, various documents, reports, investigations, studies and reports are shared and distributed, published by our member entities and other specialized entities and organizations, on topics related to the housing sector, mortgage market, real estate sector, construction and urban development in the Region.
Compile and collect specialized documentation
UNIAPRAVI provides this service through its Library, which contains extensive reference material specialized in housing policies, housing financing and urban management, particularly in Latin American countries, and which is available to member institutions of the Union and any another institution or person interested in the topic. The UNIAPRAVI Library includes all the Union's publications since its creation in 1964 as well as documentation from other institutions or authors.
