
The Inter-American Housing Union (Uniapravi) successfully held the 29th Inter-American Mortgage Banking Course at the Hilton Panama Hotel in Panama City, on Thursday, February 13 and Friday, February 14, 2025.
The Course is the most important regional forum on Mortgage Banking, which also represents a great opportunity to establish links with other banking and financial institutions with housing portfolios and sector authorities from various countries in the Americas.
This Inter-American Course aimed to contribute to strengthening human capital, primarily in Uniapravi member institutions in Latin American and Caribbean countries. It will analyze the current landscape and trends in the housing market and explore the design of products and solutions to meet diverse financing needs. In addition, technological innovations in the mortgage business will be reviewed, and technological risk management in financial institutions will be addressed.
The course was aimed at management-level professionals and executives, as well as professionals from Uniapravi member and associate entities, banking, financial, mutual, and housing savings and loan associations, cooperatives, savings banks, financial institutions, fund managers, and central banks; as well as authorities and officials from housing funds and banks, mortgage banks, researchers, and consultants.
The course brought together approximately 43 attendees, including speakers and participants from Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. The opening and closing ceremony was led by the President of the Union, Mr. José Luis Ventura Castaños, who emphasized the importance of this forum, which brings together ideas, experiences, and best practices of professionals and authorities from the financial and housing sectors throughout Latin America. This forum fosters the exchange of knowledge and builds relationships between banking, financial, and government entities committed to making housing accessible, sustainable, and adapted to the needs of our people.
